Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Graham Harrell completed 37-of-46 pass attempts for 433 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 38-7 win over the Baylor Bears in a Big 12 Conference showdown at Floyd Casey Stadium.
Aaron Crawford was Harrell's favorite target, hauling in 10 passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Danny Amendola also had a big day for the Red Raiders (7-3, 3-3 Big 12), making eight grabs for 108 yards. Crawford led Texas Tech on the ground, carrying the ball nine times for 44 yards and another two scores.
Baylor (3-7, 0-6) was led by quarterback Blake Szymanski, who completed 25- of-41 passes for 191 yards and a score.
Texas Tech opened up the scoring midway through the first quarter on a 37- yard touchdown strike from Harrell to Eric Morris.
The Red Raiders made it a 14-0 game minutes later, when Crawford scored on a three-yard touchdown plunge.
Texas Tech took a 17-0 lead into the half, when Alex Trlica drilled a 23-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the second quarter.
Harrell gave the Red Raiders a 24-0 lead, early in the third quarter, when he hooked up with Crawford for a 17-yard score.
Crawford extended the Texas Tech lead, midway through the third quarter, on a 17-yard touchdown run.
Harrell and Crawford hooked up again minutes later, this time on a seven-yard touchdown strike, to give the Red Raiders a 38-0 lead.
Baylor broke the shut out, in the game's final minute, when Szymanski found Brandon Whitaker for a seven-yard score to make it a 38-7 final.
Harrell's 433-yard performance put the signal-caller over the 4,000-yard mark for the second straight season.
Following the game, Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach commented on his offense's performance.
"I thought that Graham played really well, but it was really a group effort. Our offensive line played well today, and that was really the key to the game. I thought that (Michael) Crabtree played well and did some nice things. We got good distribution to our wide receivers which is really the key to this offense."
