A second Lubbock capital murder trial this week ends with a plea agreement.

27-year-old Alonzo Lewis accepted a plea deal late Wednesday afternoon.

Jury selection was set to begin Wednesday in Lewis' trial, but instead, he waived his right to a trial, pleading guilty to capital murder.

Lewis will spend life in prison without the chance for parole.

According to police, Lewis robbed and stabbed 73-year-old Donald McCullough back in 2007.

McCullough and his wife had just returned to their southwest Lubbock home around 5:30 that afternoon, when Lewis approached Don McCullough in his garage.

McCullough offered Lewis water and a short time later, Lewis returned and robbed the former Air Force Colonel, then stabbed him over 30 times.

McCullough was pronounced dead on the scene.

Sentencing for Alonzo Lewis is scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
