Sheriff's Officers Test Project Lifesaver

Lubbock County Sheriff's officers were training today with GPS equipment that finds patients who wander off.
 
Project Lifesaver provides a GPS tracking bracelet to patients with Alzheimers, Dementia, and other diseases in case they wander away.  Greg Parrott with the department says people can travel up to four miles in an hour and with the bracelets, they can locate the person usually within thirty minutes.  For more information on how to sign up, you can call the Sheriff's Academy at 775-1466 or visit the website at www.projectlifesaver.org.
