Beware of Ticket Scammers this Weekend

This weekend's game may be a big one for Texas Tech, but it's also a big game for ticket scalpers.
Tech's ticket office sold out months ago, we had problems last year for the Texas game in Lubbock where many folks bought fake tickets.
Ticket officials are warning folks who plan to buy one outside the stadium in Austin not to do it. They say more scammers head out for big games just like this weekend's, you could end up paying hundreds of dollars for a ticket that won't even get you past the front gate.
Dave Welsh, Texas Tech Ticket Office: "I know people really want to go to the game, it's really a neat game, a festive atmosphere. But it's not worth, I mean, I saw the devastation last year. People spend $200 for a ticket that was totally worthless. And they were just, as you can imagine, crushed. Violently angry as well, but crushed because they'd been duped."
Welsh says if you buy from anyone other than tech or UT's ticket office, make sure you know the source directly and personally.
