Beer and wine will soon be in Lubbock stores.
The TABC will issue 86 alcohol permits Wednesday to stores across the city. Supermarkets and convenience stores applying for those liscenses can get their Letter of Authenticity as early as 8:30 Wednesday morning. That letter will let them start selling beer and wine immediately. The stores say their employees are trained, and their distributors will soon start stocking shelves.
"They'll be a lot of work to do in a short period of time to make it all happen so best case scenario is being ready to go on Thursday," says Eddie Owens with United Supermarkets.
Businesses can get those permits online or at the Lubbock District Office.
