MANHATTAN, Kansas--Kansas State made four free throws within the final minute of the game to get the Wildcats past the Lady Raiders, 53-51, in the Big 12 Conference opener for Tech.
While both teams struggled to make their shots (31% for both teams), it was converting free throws into points that made the difference. Kansas State was 15-of-17 from the charity stripe, while the Lady Raiders were 10-of-19.
Erin Grant led Tech with 12 points. LaVonda Henderson (11) and Alesha Robertson (10) also scored double-digits.
Tech is now 5-7 for the season and 0-1 in conference play. They next play Texas A&M on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.
