Christmas Stockings for the Troops

"I wonder who is going to get this one," said Kay McMichael as she sewed another Christmas stocking.
Materials girls like Kay have been busily sewing thousands of stockings for men and women they've never even met.
"We were talking at the table and decided doing something for the holidays for an overseas military base. It evolved into making three thousand stockings for the air base in South Korea," said Donna Nussbaum, an organizer of the project.
What began as a church group project is now a community wide endeavor.
Local businesses, volunteer groups, and other churches hopped on board to show their appreciation for the troops overseas.
Each and every stocking will be stuffed with candy, small toys, CD's, and a handwritten note.
"I hope they see that people in West Texas support them, support their mission, and support them as individuals as representatives of the United States, the greatest country in the world," said Nussbaum.
If you're interested in getting involved, there are a couple more work days.
