A Lubbock mother is grieving the loss of her daughter tonight after officials say she was murdered in Mississippi.

The body of 30-year-old Natasha Carpenter was found inside a semi trailer in Hancock County two weeks ago.  Hancock officials say the woman's boyfriend, 47-year-old Mark Rice, was inside the truck cab attempting to set it on fire.  Authorities put out the fire, and arrested Rice.  Carpenter's mother, Karen Wetterman, says she believes her daughter was smothered and kept dead inside the semi for over a week.  Rice is now charged with capital murder as well as several other charges.
