In addition, the Conference also assessed a $10,000 fine for Leach's post-game remarks and put him on notice that any future such behavior will result in a more serious penalty, including a possible suspension. "Coach Leach's public statements called into question the integrity and competence of game officials and the Conference's officiating program," stated Commissioner Dan Beebe. "Accordingly the seriousness of this violation warrants a public reprimand and the largest fine issued to date by the Conference." Beebe noted that coaches are an integral part of the game officials' evaluation process, which enables them to express concerns and address specific issues privately. Coaches are also able to submit video of calls for review to the Conference for feedback. The Big 12 Principles and Standards of Sportsmanship, including the procedure for processing possible violations can be found beginning on Page 2 of the following web site link: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/big12/genrel/auto_pdf/big12-handbook-appendices.pdf
