You could say the holiday season is officially here, which means traveling to family, shopping til you drop, and something a little more unwelcome: holiday gas prices. We talked to shoppers at Holiday Happenings to see just what they thought about those hard-hitting prices. "We'd like for it to go down, but we don't know if that's gonna happen or not." Holiday Happenings vendor Sandy Wyley feels the pressure from those prices everytime she comes in from New Mexico. "Its tough when you're on the road," she says. "Everytime we fill up it costs about $75 to fill the pickup up, and so it's a hit, it really is." Shopper Heather Terrell says, "It seems like they just always go up time to travel, and I think it's just gonna keep getting higher, so yeah, I think it's gonna make it harder for people to buy Christmas presents and stuff." It's a good point. As prices continue to affect our economy, will that pinch in your pocketbook at the pump mean fewer presents under the tree?

Mom Kelly Allen isn't too worried, "As you can see out here, ladies are gonna shop, it doesn't matter how much it costs to fill up that tank of gas."
She think shopping will suffer too much, but she says in her home, holiday cutbacks may be coming: "I got gas the other day, and I drive a SUV, and it does make you stop and think. I'll prob have one less gift under the tree maybe for one of my teenagers." So, this holiday season, sacrificing your cash to the gods of gas may unfortunately hold those holiday gifts in the balance. Says Terrell, "Maybe this year, there's gonna be a little less for the kids because it's hard to travel and pay that much."
