Here at home, lots of folks seem to be feeling under the weather these days and many believe it's because of the weather changing.  So can the weather make us more susceptible to illness?  Doctor's say "No!"  The weather can't make you catch a cold.  It's just that specific types of illnesses have a tendency to spring up during certain kinds of weather.  Dr. Rick Peck said the best way to prevent yourself from getting sick is to lead a healthy lifestyle by getting plenty of rest and eating nutritious foods.

"When it's warm and dry you're going to have more dust and more allergens blowing around.  When it's cold is when viruses tend to hit across the nation," said Dr. Rick Peck, M.D. of family medicine and Director at Premier Health Clinic.

We also spoke with the National Weather Service.  They said it's still too soon to tell if the Hub City should expect a cold winter this year.  Doctors said if it's a colder winter than normal then the H1N1 virus won't die off as easily.  Instead, it's more likely to spread.
