Taser Trial Back in Session

The lawsuit stems from a traffic stop back in July of 2006. Officer Marsh Blackmore pulled over LJ McCallan for a faulty break light, then used a taser to get him out of the car and down on the ground. Five Lubbock police officers took the stand Wednesday, including Lieutenant Dan Bryant. The master taser trainer said a taser isn't always the best option, but is certainly the safest when it comes to using non-deadly force. He says dash cam video of McCallan pulling his shirt away from him while being tased shows a disconnect with the probes, and that McCallan wasn't fully incapacitated, giving officer Blackmore good reason to continue tasing him until fully subdued.
