Chamber of Commerce Backs Bond Election

Lubbock voters will soon decide whether or not to fund four major projects Included in November's bond election.
The Chamber of Commerce announced today the creation of a political action commitee to make sure every issue is passed. They're calling it 4 For Lubbock, saying it's all about Lubbock growth November 3rd.
On the ballot, four bond propositions. The budget's set at a little more than 60-million dollars. If all four are passed -- that money's to be allocated to several street improvement projects. New firefighting facilities, water recreation for families, and soccer fields in South Lubbock.
These four bonds are the product of several public hearings. The two biggest public concerns, according to the Chamber, were fixing up 34th Street and the new soccer facility.
The chamber says they wholeheartedly back all four bonds and hope the public gets educated and supports them, too.
Randy Jordan, Chamber of Commerce: "By and large, Lubbock does support projects that they become familiar with, and understand, and recognize their value.
Linda Gaither, 4 for Lubbock Spokeswoman: "It's time now to get all the information that you need, so that you are a wise voter. That's the main thing, is to cast your opinion."
Early voting begins this Monday, the 19th. The election is of course November 3rd.
