Inmate Released by Accident

The Lubbock Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Joseph Gonzales of Slaton was released due to human error.

Sheriff Gutierrez says three men were on the cell block named Joseph Gonzales.  A Joe Gonzales was supposed to be released, but sheriff's deputies let the wrong one go.

Joseph Gonzales was being held for aggravated assault of a peace officer and other charges.

Gutierrez says the situation is very serious, and all law enforcement agencies are conducting an intense search for Gonzales.
