Early voting has already begun for the local bond election here in Lubbock.  One of the items that you are voting on is whether or not to provide 9 million dollars for a new soccer complex.

The new fields would be located at FM 1585 and Milwaukee in southwest Lubbock.  The entire complex would include 53 news fields on 90 acres of land.

Supporters say better soccer facilities would increase local revenue.  At the very least, new fields will make Lubbock a better place to play soccer.

One suporter says it's time for soccer to get some attention.

"let's make it fair across the border. Don't just pick football. Don't just pick basketball or baseball. They have all their locations. Let's get a good, great soccer facility so the businesses can benefit as well as the entire city of Lubbock," Messerschmidt said.
