You may remember Marlena Gomez, the woman who volunteers for Meals On Wheels but doesnt have a car. Marlena hires a taxi to deliver that food. Well, on Thanksgiving, Marlena is at it again. However, this time she is delivering her home-cooked meals to the homeless downtown. And she is, once again, in that little yellow taxi cab. People just out on the street that, hey, I just stop and ask them, Would you like a meal, a hot meal? And a lot of them say yeah, so, they try to pay me. But I say, Im not out for your money, Im doing this because I want to’,” says Marlena. "After I lost my wife, I lost interest in living. Ive lived on the streets with the people shes going to serve food to. And, God Bless her for doing it. The homeless and the people living on the streets really need this kind of compassion. Theyre Gods people too,” says Larry Yettaw, Marlena’s taxi cab driver. Marlena says it took her quite a while to make all that food. However, she says she won’t take a bite until she’s through delivering meals.
