A follow up on an international custody battle we told you about earlier this week.
Tonight the mother involved in the dispute is speaking out from Israel.
Jason Hook said that the day before a custody hearing in Brownfield … his ex-wife took his son Gideon to Israel.
Because she was not in court the judge awarded Jason full temporary custody of Gideon.
Hook flew to Israel last week to try to get Gideon back.
Now the boys mother, Tory Hill, tells us she is a missionary doing humanitarian work … and that at the time of their divorce it was agreed upon that Gideon would live with her in Israel.
She tells us she left to Israel 5-days before the hearing in Brownfield thinking her attorney would handle the court hearing. But that attorney withdrew the day of the trial.
She says, "The final decree of divorce that states I am the sole managing conservator of Gideon and have the sole right to determine his place of residence, additionally Jason does not have court ordered visitation only visitation as agreed. I am a missionary in Israel and am married.  My religious beliefs are that it is not appropriate for a child to be brought up in a home where the male and female are not married.  I did not deny Mr. Hook visitation--just the right to keep the child in the present environment he is living.  He had full access to one on one visitation with Gideon on Sundays for 7 hours and chose not to take advantage of the opportunity. It is my hope and wish that Jason and I can come to a reasonable visitation agreement for the best interest of Gideon.  I would like to be able to travel back and forth to Texas to allow my child the opportunity to know and relate with Mr. Hook and my other family and friends.  Mr. Hook has made this impossible for me legally and financialy."
A judge in Israel is expected to make a decision in mid November.
