A man arrested in Colorado could be the rapist in three Lubbock cases.
The arrest comes just a day after KLBK told you about a new sketch released for the serial rapist. But the man was arrested in Colorado on a much different charge. 47-year-old Robert Bruce was arrested in Pueblo, Colorado after officials say he attempted to blow up a police officer's home.
Now Albuquerque Police have linked Bruce's DNA to 11 rapes there and Lubbock Police believe 3 rapes here could be tied to him as well. Officials say the rapists technique is similar in all of the rapes, including one in Austin. Captain Greg Stevens says they have connected the rapes here because there are more similarities than differences.
"The victims are college-age or college students. The suspects either entered the home or the residence of the victim or laid in wait for the victims in their homes, and the victims were apparently disabled by some chemical means."
Bruce is being held in the Pueblo County Jail for two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder and possession of an explosive device.
