Denver City Police are working with Mexican authorities Thursday to confirm missing three year-old Mitchell Romero has died in a car wreck.

You'll remember Romero was the subject of an Amber Alert in October. After police found his mother Veronica dead in their Denver City home. Police believe little Mitchell was taken to Mexico by his father Mario, who remains wanted by Denver City Police for questioning in Veronica Romero's death. Family tells us they were actually bringing the boy back home to Texas, when their car blew a tire and flipped over Wednesday afternoon. They say Mitchell Romero died in that accident. Police are calling this "a real complicated situation" and an "emotional rollercoaster."
