Many of Lubbock's homeless are dreading the onset of cold winter nights to come. So some folks decided to put themselves in their homeless neighbors' shoes. People gathered at the Mahon Public Library to pray for Lubbock's homeless and the need for shelter. Homeless people also led prayers and shared their personal stories of survival. Some participants spent the entire night outside of the library to get a feel of what its like to be homeless. People who came out said everyone needs to be aware of Lubbock's homeless and how much help they need.
"People come out here, they bring food and money, but that's really not what they need. They need couseling and a place to go and that's why a bunch of us are out here," said Warner Alexander, a member of Carpenter's Church.
Others added they hope there will one day be no such thing as homelessness.
