Overstreet Responds to City's Action

He served the City's human resouces department with a seven-page letter responding to his being put on leave.
Overstreet called the letter an employment status update but declined to discuss what was actually in the letter.
We later found out it was essentially a timeline describing his interaction with Assistant City Manager Quincy White. In the letter, Overstreet defends his actions as well as criticizing the City's leadership for mismanagement on several occasions. One of which was his reassignment from Director of Emergency Managment to Director of Animal Services about ten months ago.
"To go from Director of Emergency Management to head dog catcher? I mean come on. I have a master's certification in law enforcement, and they want me to be the head dog catcher," Overstreet said.
Overstreet was put on leave by the city after he sent a letter to White asking for the resignations of White and City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld last week.
Now he says he wants this situation resolved quickly.
"I'm hoping they'll call sometime tomorrow and say, 'We're ready for you to come back to work,'" he said.
"I just want to go back to work and be left alone."
