A potential side effect of the H1N1 vaccine could be to blame for one Lubbock woman's paralysis.
Kadi Robinson received the vaccine on Friday, October 30th.
A day later, she began experiencing soreness and blurred vision.
By Monday, Robinson was having trouble moving her right arm.
She was admitted to University Medical Center for testing and doctors there determined she was experiencing a rare side effect of the H1N1 vaccine...paralysis.
"Since I've been a nurse for six years, I've always taken a flu shot, so I thought I was doing best for myself and my family, trying to keep all of us well, instead it backfired on me. Right now we're just on a week to week basis. He (Dr. Thomas) hopes for a full recovery, but it's not 100%," Robinson says.
Doctors say this side effect is seen in about 1 for every 100,000 people.
It is still not clear, though, if the vaccine is fully to blame for the paralysis.
