Several local farmers got together Monday to help out a neighbor in need.
Allen Barrett was run over by his tractor a few weeks ago and is still recovering with a leg infection. So Monday, farmers from as far away as Edinburgh came out to harvest Barrett's 800 acres of cotton. 18 cotton strippers, $5-million dollars worth of equipment, and donated diesel fuel meant they could finish the job in just one day. Those farmers tell us, they didn't think twice about helping Barrett.
"It's just something that we do down here. We just all got together, Brad Williams made a few phone calls and we just got together and we decided we was going to do this and we're going to do it today."
