Lubbock Police are always looking for your help solving crimes we talk about here on the news.

You send your tips through Crimeline and now police are upping the ante to look for answers in unsolved cases.

Thanks to some surplus donations, law enforcement will now offer $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a homicide and $1,000 in burglary and robbery cases.

Officials are hoping the extra incentive will turn up key information in unsolved crimes in the area.

Some of those they're hoping to finally crack include several homicides, like the 1991 murder of Barbara Jean Hinojosa in her East Lubbock Home.

It doesn't matter how big or small the crime or tip, Lubbock Police just hope that any leads can come from your Crimeline call.

"These are cases, and you've heard me say time and time again, there's always that one little piece of information that we feel that one member of the public has, that they don't realize its importance, or they think it may have already been reported to law enforcement and it's that one little piece of information that can close those cases and help us find the perpetrator," Lubbock Police Captain Greg Stevens says.

The extra rewards will go through February 28th, but there must be an arrest made during that time for you to qualify.
