Bomb-making material and a body; that's the discovery made yesterday by Lubbock Sheriff's Deputies.
Charles Gardenhire was found dead in his north Lubbock County home. The explosive materials he left behind were very much alive. And instead of calling in the coroner, authorities called in the bomb squad.
It took the bomb squad more than 10 hours to secure the home before anyone else could enter.
The sheriff's office says it believes the man died of natural causes.
Larry Pray, one of Gradenhire's neighbors says he's not surprised at what authorities found inside the home.
"He was a real radical. He'd listen to short wave radio and people way out there. And he believed in all the stuff against the government, and the establishment and all that," Pray said.
