An RBI single from Brian Capps in the bottom of the ninth gave the Texas Tech baseball team an 11-10 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday, completing a sweep of the series against the Indians. The win was Larry Hays` 1,428 win, moving him to third on the NCAA`s baseball all-time win list. Hays moved past Cliff Gustafson, long-time baseball coach at Texas. Tech roared out to a big lead and appeared to be cruising to yet another big victory. But a four-run sixth inning and a three-run ninth tied the game at 10. Hits from Matt Smith and James Leverton set up Capps single that brought Smith home for the win. Tech (3-0) next plays Friday afternoon. They face Rice at 3:30 p.m. at Minute Maid Park as part of the Houston College Classic.
