BONDELECTION2007-12-17-1197951307.jpgLubbock's new bond proposal has some business owners along 34th Street concerned.

The city is proposing a $45.5 million bond for road repairs and other infrastructure projects on 34th Street.

While some businesses welocme the idea, others worry the limitied traffic will limit business.

Councilman Todd Klein says, if approved by the council and voted inby the citizens, he hopes the five-year project will be done in segments so businesses will only be affected for no more than 90 days.

My job, as a council member, is to do everything we can to make sure this project is on time and under budget," says Klein.  "There will be some traffic issues.  There's no way around that."

No infrastructure funds have been spent on 34th Street in over 50 years.
