Fire officials have ruled arson as the cause for three recent fires in Central Lubbock.  Now, they're asking for your help to track down those responsible.  Officials say the string of arson started last Thursday when flames caused major damage inside an unoccupied home on the corner of 21st St. and Avenue U.  Then, Saturday, just next door, officials say someone set a fire that destroyed what used to be Texas Floral.  Again, the building was unoccupied.  Finally, on Sunday, authorities say someone started a fire inside a small un-used shed on the same block.

"Our society takes the crime of setting fires very seriously because you never know where that fire will go.  Once you set it and walk away it can get as big as it wants to," says Lubbock Fire Marshal Garrett Nelson.

Officials can't say if the fires are connected, but the person or people responsible could face second degree felony charges.  If you have any information about these crimes, please call the Fire Marshal's office at 775-2646.
