Arson Spree Continues

Firefighters put out yet another fire, the forth in a string of what officials are now calling arson.
"We're always gonna have fires, always gonna have people having accidents and making mistakes. That's just part of our lives, but when it's deliberate it's a whole lot more frustrating because those are not necessary," said Garrett Nelson, Lubbock's fire marshall.
The spree began Thursday night when someone set fire inside an unoccupied house on the corner of 21st and Avenue U, causing major damage.
Saturday, just next door, officials say someone set fire to what used to be Texas Floral, but is now unoccupied.
Sunday, authorities say someone started a fire inside a small shed on the same block.
This afternoon, yet another fire was set to a shed on the property behind the florist.
In between all this activity, firefighters have been busy extinguishing other non-intentional fires.
Wednesday night around 11:30 a garage caught fire on East 14th street.
And this afternoon, children playing with fireworks caused an entire yard, and part of an apartment to burn.
