We ended 2007 with 16 homicides. Police quickly solved 13 of them, but 3 remain unsolved.
Police found the body of 40-year-old Selena Kuykendall back in April. They say someone beat and killed her somewhere else then dumped her body on a dirt road in Northeast Lubbock. Then in September, someone shot 28-year-old John Wilkerson multiple times in his East Lubbock driveway. In October, police say 4 men used a blunt object to beat 40-year-old Monty Edler to death in Southwest Lubbock. Police have made no arrests in these murders and say they need your help closing the cases.
"In most of our cases they have leads and lots of information pointing in a certain direction, but the way criminal cases go we have to reach a certain level of provability, and it could be just that one piece of information the public gives that helps them achieve that," says Lt. John Caspell with the LPD.
