Shock-jock Don Imus is back on the radio.  And starting Monday morning, you could hear him loud and clear, right here in Lubbock.

You can now hear "Imus in the Morning" every weekday morning on Newsradio 1420.  You may remember Imus was fired from CBS back in April, after making racist and sexist remarks about the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team.  He came back on the air in New York City in December.

So far, Lubbock is the only city in Texas broadcasting Imus each morning.  Newsradio 1420 is positive about their choice, although they may hear about it.

"I hope we do.  I hope we get all kinds of calls like that.  It means people are listening.  And you're not always going to agree with him, I don't always agree with him, but you'll always be interested in what he has to say,” says Dave Walker of Walker Communications, the company that owns the radio station.

Imus did mention Lubbock a few times this morning; of course poking fun as he always does.  But, Dave Walker says, he believes the national-level programming and guest list Imus will have, will be something Lubbock listeners will appreciate.
