Tech Beats UNC-Asheville In The Bottom of the Ninth

Roger Kieschnick scored in the bottom of the ninth to get the Red Raiders past UNC-Asheville, 8-7, on Friday. Tech scored in the second and third innings, and had a four-run explosion in the fourth, to take a commanding 6-1 lead. But UNC-Asheville came back and took a 7-6 lead after a three-run home run in the top of the seventh. Later in the inning, Matt Smith came up to the plate and hit a home run to tie the game. Kieschnick`s score in the bottom of the ninth gave the Red Raiders their second-straight win. Aaron Odom (1-1) got the win for Tech. The Red Raiders (14-6) look for the sweep against UNC-Asheville on Saturday.
