dangerousdogs5vo2008-01-15-1200457654.jpgA pit bull in west Lubbock County is responsible for mauling five dogs to death in the past two weeks. Residents of Seven Estates say the pit bull belongs to a man who live in the neighborhood, and the dog is usually kept behind a fence. But somehow, in recent days, the dog has manged to get out, attacking nearly every dog in sight. Felicia Newman lives in Seven Estates and says she is scared for the safety of her two-and-a-half-year-old, who she now keeps inside to play.

"The fact that it's right across the street from me makes me more worried to go outside", says Newman, "it could have been my child, her children, anybody elses children out here. It was just unbelievable"

Animal control has spoken to the owner of the pit bull. And the owner tells them that he is planning to have the pit bull put down. As of now, no civil suits have been filed on behalf of the other dog owners, but that is a possibility.
