firstrespondervo2008-01-17-1200628787.jpg      A memorial honoring area first responders was set to be finished in 2006, but a year and half later, the proposed memorial site is still empty.

The Lubbock Regional Public Safety Memorial committee broke ground on the project at Jack Stevens park about three years ago, but lack of financing meant construction never started and now the project's at a standstill.  The memorial will honor all the first responders from 15 area counties who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.  Committee members say the plans are complete.  They just need donations to make their plans a reality.  If you would like to help donate by going to www.lrpsm.org.
