knighthandslap2008-01-18-1200698758.jpgLubbock, TX – The Red Raiders travel to Norman, Oklahoma for Saturday’s game against the Sooners. The 3:00 PM (CT) game will be televised on ESPN Plus. Dave Armstrong will call the play-by-play. Stacey King will provide the game analysis.

Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Corky Oglesby as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network local stations KQBR-FM 99.5 and KKAM-AM 1340.

The Sooners and the Red Raiders are meeting for the 42nd time since the series began on December 27, 1944. Overall, OU leads the series, 25-16. Texas Tech leads the series 10-8 when the teams have played in Lubbock. OU has a 15-5 margin in Norman and a 2-1 edge on neutral courts. In the 2006-2007 season, each team won on their home court. In Norman, the Sooners won (75-61) while the Red Raiders won in Lubbock, 68-54.

The Sooners are 12-5 for the season and 0-2 in conference play. They were 12-3 in non-conference play and lost conference games at home to KSU (84-82) on January 12 and at Kansas on January 14, 85-55. Longar Longar was their leading scorer against KU with 21 points. The Sooners have three players scoring in double figures for the season in Blake Griffin (14.5), Longar Longar (13.5), and Tony Crocker (11.4).

The Red Raiders are 10-6 for the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Raiders lost at Oklahoma State (75-55) on January 12 and then defeated # 9/10 Texas A&M on January 16, 68-53, for Coach Bob Knight’s 900th career win.

Martin Zeno was the leading scorer in the A&M game with 19 points. Trevor Cook dropped in 14 points and Damir Suljagic added 10 points. Texas Tech has three players averaging double figures for the season in Martin Zeno (16.3), Alan Voskuil (12.4), and John Roberson (11.6).

The Missouri Tigers come to Lubbock on Wednesday, January 23. The game at the United Spirit Arena will tip-off at 7:00 PM (CT) on ESPN Plus.
