A student's report of an aggressive burglary in a Tech residence hall has officials warning about safety. Last week, a student living in Coleman Hall reported that he was pushed down as he was entering his dorm. And the two suspects took his wallet, keys and cell phone. They then fled the scene. Now Texas Tech police sent out a message through Tech Announce reminding students to be aware of their surroundings.
But Chief Ronald Seacrist says students shouldn't be alarmed because this is very rare.
"Very uncommon. Again, this is very much out of the ordinary for residence halls because it's so controlled and the access is limited and so it's kind of an unusual situation given the kind of things we see happening in residence halls."
The incident is still under investigation and no suspects have been found.
