WINDDAMAGE2008-01-29-1201665993.jpgStrong winds blew through South Lubbock Tuesday morning....tearing apart a metal structure and throwing it against a mobile home at Avenue P and County Road 7250.

Around 8:30, neighbor Chenoa Klos says she was taking her 1-year-old daughter to daycare when a piece of that metal structure came flying at them in their truck.

After calling 911, Klos ran her daughter inside their home and fled to the bathroom for protection.  Minutes later, the rest of that building came flying at their home...and now rests in their backyard.

Now Klos says she fears for their safety in the future.

"It's just scary to think when springtime comes again we're going to go through this all over again and whose to say these other buildings aren't going to go and these houses... it's a scary thought."

Crews were out all day attempting to clean up the mess...and power lines that went down were disconnected.  Now, Klos will have to wait until the wind dies down for the crews to completely remove all the metal which is currently blocking her back door and windows.  Then they'll assess the damage.
