Lubbock Christian is hoping to be the team that makes a run in this week`s NAIA Region VI Baseball Tournament in Plainview.
The field was officially announced today. The Chaparrals were given the fourth-seed. Sooner Athletic Conference champion Oklahoma City was given the top-seed, followed by Houston Baptist and Oklahoma Baptist.
Wayland Baptist hosts the tournament as the fifth seed. Texas Wesleyan rounds out the six-team field.
The winner of the tournament moves on to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
LCU starts tournament play with the team that knocked them out of the SAC Tournament, Oklahoma Baptist. OBU has had its way with LCU this season. The Chaps have lost four out of six meetings with the Bison.
The two play at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Wilder Field in Plainview. The winner advances to play at 6 p.m. on Thursday, while the loser will play at 2:30 p.m. Thursday against the winner of the Oklahoma City/Texas Wesleyan game.
Wayland Baptist meets up with Houston Baptist at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
