Lubbock Chief of Police Retires

Police Chief Claude Jones announced his retirement on Monday.
Jones is a 33 year veteran of the police department and served as chief since 2002. Under his leadership, the department has grown by about 100 officers and violent crime has dropped by nearly 11 percent in the last 2 years.
Jones credits his accomplishments to the hardworking men and women he leads. Jones' last day will be February 15th and City Manager Leann Dumbauld is expected to recommend Asst. Shief Dale Holton as the new chief at the city council meeting on February 14th.
