Littlefield High School Deals with Tragedy

Two Littlefield teens are dead after a rollover Tuesday night. Now students at Littlefield High School are left to deal with the tragedy.
"Our intent is for school to go on", says Principal Ricky Hobbs. But that was hard amidst the tears and turmoil of losing two students too soon. "You see 'em walk by and put notes on the lockers and I think its beginning to sink in that they've lost classmates", says Hobbs.
Littlefield senior Charlie Brown and sophomore Khrystal Brown were with two friends headed to a basketball game in Lockney Tuesday night but never made it. Hobbs says "right about the end of the girls game, one of the sisters of the twins also in the accident came and told me that there had been one, but at that time we had no details."
But the details were quick to come and devastation swept the school. "Just one (death) devastates a school especially a school of this size because everybody knows everybody". Hobbs says all four students in the crash were top notch. Charlie a hard worker..."very polite young man too, yes sir no sir, smiling in the hallways." And Khrystal much the same. "She was always with friends, never alone, always had a smile on her face and was just pleasant and a joy to be around", says Hobbs.
And although the joy seems scarce at Littlefield High School. "It takes a long time to heal and this will be with us for a while", says Hobbs. Hobbs says they are grateful for the two students who survived. "We're praying for them and hope they get better and get back to us."
