Updated: January 7, 2009
July 6, 2006 The Lubbock Cotton Kings obtained the rights of forward Paul Mcbrien from the Memphis River Kings for future considerations. The Kings later signed Mcbrien and is now under contract for the 2006-07 season. "What I like about Paul is that he wants to be here and he is coming in with goals he has set to strive towards this season," said Cotton Kings Head Coach Chris Dashney. "This acquisition gives us a team omplimentary player that is looking to improve on his point totals while continuing to play physical. Lubbock fans will enjoy the effort he puts forth on the ice and the excitement he brings." Mcbrien joined the RiverKings last November and appeared in 49 games. He racked up five goals, and five assists. But its his attitude on the ice for why he may be in Lubbock. Mcbrien led Memphis last year with 258 penalty minutes, which ranked second among CHL rookies. Mcbriens addition to the Kings roster places the Kings with four players announced for the 2006-07 season. He joins goaltender Brett Koscielny, defenseman Chris Barth and forward Jaydyn Murray on this years roster.
