The identity of human remains found in Yellow House Canyon was released Wednesday.  And Thursday, the family of 17 year old Bernard Wilson is dealing with the reality of losing one of their own.

Lubbock County Sheriff's Investigators found the remains over two years ago in Yellow House Canyon, but they were a mystery until this week.

Bruce Wilson, Bernard's father, says he had just been released from prison when he found out his son was missing.  Then, this past December, he saw a sketch of what artists thought the victim looked like.  Bruce said it looked a lot like Bernard.  He called investigators who did a DNA test.  That's when he says he finally found his son, in a way he hoped he never would.

"I know he's looking down on us right now just knowing we done come this far that were going to solve this thing and I think he'd be proud of that. I think he'd be a happy kid to know that someone know knows who he is and with that we can move on and try to find who did it,” says Bruce Wilson.

Bruce says he hopes getting the word out now will inspire someone to come forward with information on who killed his son.
