A family is devastated after learning the Yellowhouse Canyon remains were those of their son and brother.

"All this time I've been looking for my son, he's been in that field out there dead," said Bruce Wilson, father of the victim, Bernard Wilson.

Wilson was in prison when his son disappeared.

He began looking for him since his release, and finally saw a familiar sketch on television.

"When I looked up I just started crying," said Wilson.

"It was a sketch drawing, but I knew it was Bernard. I knew when I saw that face."

A DNA sample confirmed the remains were those of his son.

"It's probably the hardest news I've ever had in my whole life," said Sharhonda McMurray, the victim's sister.

McMurray didn't report her brother missing because she thought he had run away, which wasn't out of the ordinary for Wilson.

Now, both Wilson and McMurray say they want Bernard's killer or killers to be brought to justice.

"It won't be complete closure until the person or persons who did this face time behind bars," said McMurray.

"We're going to solve this thing, and I think he'd be proud of that," said Wilson.

"I think he'd be a happy kid to know that someone knows who he is."
