COUNTYCOMISH22008-02-25-1203999635.jpgSeveral court systems across the nation have adopted a new electronic jury system.

Lubbock County could be next.

The Commissioners Court have approved the new I-Jury program.

It allows potential jurors to respond to summons on-line instead of waiting hours in a jury pool room.

Future jurors will just log-in to confirm their summons and will be e-mailed or text-messaged if they are needed for selection.

Court systems that have adopted the I-Jury system are reporting huge increases in voter turnout.
