A deadly shooting in east Lubbock leads to a standoff and one man in jail. Police were called out to 407 Vanda Avenue a little after 9:00 Saturday morning. They say 37-year-old John Kyle Lockard shot his 95 year old grandfather R.K. Flippin in the neck with a shotgun. When police arrived, Lockard refused to come out of the home, so Lubbocks swat team was called in. After about an hour and a half of negotiations, Lockard finally came out of the house and surrendured to police. Flippin was pronounced dead on the scene. Lockard is being held in the City of Lubbock Detention Facility on capital murder charges.
