The loss drops Texas Tech to 3-5 on the season while Rice improves to 6-2 and finishes the Houston College Classic with a perfect 3-0 record.

After going down in order the first two innings, the Texas Tech offense came roaring to life in the bottom of the third as the Red Raiders cranked out four hits and drew two walks to take a 4-3 lead.  Jason Seefeld’s two RBI single up the middle tied the game at 3-3 but that set up junior right fielder Roger Kieshnick who laced a double to right to give the Red Raiders their first lead of the game.

Texas Tech returns to Lubbock for Tuesday's home opener with Central Arkansas.
