Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - Chris Manfredini converted a field goal in every quarter, as the 20th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs extended their nation-best 13-game winning streak with a 12-3 victory over the 24th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders at Amon Carter Stadium. Jeff Ballard completed 13-of-23 passes for 101 yards for TCU (3-0), which has come out victorious in each of its last seven home games. Aaron Brown rushed for 72 yards on 18 carries, while Detrick James got 45 yards on 12 attempts. "Our kids played hard," TCU coach Gary Patterson said. "People have been underestimating our kids for years. A lot of people asked us how we were going to stop Texas Tech`s offense. You just saw it. We had a lot of speed." Graham Harrell completed 23-of-47 passes for 204 yards for the Red Raiders (2-1), who had a modest two-game winning streak halted. Shannon Woods rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries, while Robert Johnson caught seven passes for 67 yards. "TCU deserves some credit and I`ll be nice and politically correct about that, but you know what, that was the sorriest offensive effort I have ever seen," Texas Tech coach Mike Leach said. "Today I coached the worst offense in America, which would make me the worst offensive coach in America. TCU deserves credit and they played hard. The truth of the matter is I think both offenses were scared to play today and then TCU came out of it." TCU got on the board first, after Manfredini converted a 31-yard field goal to cap a 14-play, 48-yard drive with 4:11 remaining in the first quarter. Texas Tech tied the score, 3-3, on a field goal by Alex Trlica from 27 yards out with 1:22 left in the first. Manfredini put TCU back on top in the second, as he kicked a 33-yarder with 7:31 to go. Manfredini came through again on a 34-yarder with 3:32 left in the third, capping a seven-play, 21-yard drive. Manfredini then capped the scoring with a 22-yard field goal with 4:19 left in the fourth. The Red Raiders tried to rally with their next possession, as Harrell completed passes for 21 and 20 yards to advance them to the TCU 37. However, he got sacked by Brian Bonner and fumbled on fourth down with 2:11 left. Tech was held without a touchdown for the second time ever in the Mike Leach era. The first time came in 2000 against top ranked Nebraska where the Red Raiders fell 56-3. (Copyright 2006 Sports Network)
