Day 4 of Testimony in Case Against Callie Long

By: Lauren Murphy
Updated: March 3, 2008

The state rests in the case against Callie Long.

She's the former Lubbock realtor accused failure to stop and render aid in the death of 29-year-old bicyclist Brett Walrath.

Today we heard from Antoine Alexander, a friend of the victim.

He was bicycling with Walrath the night of the accident.

Alexander admits both his and Walrath's wives didn't want their husbands riding so late at night and pleaded they wear helmets.

But both requests were ignored.

A forensic engineer also testified that long would not have been able to perceive, react to or avoid Walrath regardless of alcohol consumption.

The defense will call their second witness Tuesday morning.
