Red Raiders Fall To Missouri

Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Tony Temple rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns, as 23rd-ranked Missouri moved to its best start since 1973 with a a 38-21 victory over Texas Tech.
Chase Daniel completed 15-of-22 passes for 173 yards with a touchdown and interception for the Tigers (6-0, 2-0 Big 12), who also got 90 yards receiving from Will Franklin.
Xzavie Jackson and William Moore returned interceptions for touchdowns for Missouri, which has won seven in a row, going back to last season, for the first time since 1968.
Graham Harrell completed 39-of-55 passes for 342 yards with three TDs and two interceptions for the Red Raiders (4-2, 1-1), who had their 11-game home winning streak broken. Joel Filani caught 11 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown for Texas Tech.
The Tigers used four turnovers to help them to the victory. The Red Raiders trailed by 24 points, but closed the gap to 24-21 on Harrell`s 23-yard TD pass to Danny Amendola with 9:49 left in the third. That reception capped a 10- play, 80-yard march, which included a fourth down conversion.
However, Missouri drove immediately down the field on the ensuing possession, with Daniel completing a slant pass to Chase Coffman from six yards out for a score.
Harrell fumbled the ball away in the final minute of the third quarter, and two plays later, Temple scored from eight yards out on the first play of the fourth.
Texas Tech marched to the Missouri six on the next possession, but failed on fourth down. Harrell fumbled the ball away again, this time at the Missouri 40 with 4:07 left.
Jeff Wolfert kicked a 41-yard field goal early in the first quarter and Temple scored from a yard out later in the period for a 10-0 margin.
Jackson ran back an interception 17 yards for a score with 11:48 left in the half and just 28 seconds later Moore ran back another pick 22 yards for a TD and a 24-0 lead.
Harrell connected with L.A. Reed from 30 yards out with 2:51 left in the half and the Red Raiders pulled within 21-14 less than two minutes later on Graham`s six-yard TD pass to Filani. The latter score came after Chris Parker picked off Daniel.
