Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - LaceDarius Dunn scored a career-high 38 points as he led the Baylor Bears to an 86-73 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 Conference action at United Spirit Arena.
Dunn, who also cleared a team-best nine rebounds in just 31 minutes of work, knocked down 6-of-9 shots behind the three-point line and all but one of his 13 free-throw attempts for the Bears (21-9, 9-7 Big 12) as they won for the fourth time in the last five tries to close out the regular season. Tweety Carter and Kevin Rogers contributed 16 and 10 points, respectively, in the win.
The Red Raiders (16-14, 7-9), losers of two straight and three of the last four, were paced by Martin Zeno and his 27 points, to go along with seven rebounds, while John Roberson accounted for 25 points. Charlie Burgess registered a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 10 boards.
Although the squad made just 38.2 percent from the field in the first half, including 2-of-7 beyond the arc, Tech still managed to maintain a slim 37-36 lead at the break.
In the second half Baylor erupted for 6-of-11 from behind the three-point line to take the 13-point road win.
The Red Raiders were limited to just 35.7 percent shooting from the field on the afternoon, the squad converting a mere 4-of-20 beyond the arc.
